Public Tour Schedules
Spring 2026
Early spring birding in Co. Wexford: Saturday, March 21st 2026.
Wexford is one of Ireland's best counties for birds and birding alike. Each year I run a one day tour at many of Wexford's best known birding locations. These mostly consist of, Tacumshin and Lady's Island Lakes, Rosslare back strand, the Wexford wildfowl reserve and Cahore marsh.
The beauty of a late March trip, many winter species are still here, and getting ready to leave on their migrations to breeding grounds elsewhere, while birds that arriving to breed in Ireland are making landfall. There is always a good chance of a rarity or two, also!

Winter 2026
Wexford Local Development are pleased to offer a series of free, full day workshops, delivered by Rowan, to empower community members living in or near Wexford's Natura 2000 sites to value and contribute to the protection of these important areas. The workshops are open to all interested community groups, individuals and farmers.
Registration is now open for the first two workshops, which will explore Lady’s Island Lake, Tacumshin Lake and Carnsore Point at the end of this month.
These educational and interactive days will include guided habitat walks, birding hours with CC Ornithology’s Cian Cardiff, and practical discussion on how communities can help protect biodiversity while continuing to enjoy these special places.
